Cassandra Costello serves as the voice of the visitor to San Francisco for San Francisco’s travel and tourism industry. Her role as Senior Vice President of Public Policy and Executive Programs is to create, direct, and implement public policy decisions and strategic priorities impacting the future of the City as a destination.
Costello and her team work closely with representatives of all levels of government, potential developers, neighborhood and business groups, and various public and private agencies to ensure that the voice of the visitor is at the forefront in policy decisions. She also oversees strategic planning and board management and development for the organization and its 35-member elected board.
She came from a background in policy and business development, spending six years working on legislative and policy issues for members of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors, followed by a seven-year stint managing business development and concession opportunities for the San Francisco Recreation and Park Department.
Costello lives in the Sunset District of San Francisco with her husband, a SFFD firefighter, and two children.
